Sport and exercise with people living with HIV

The research project aims to analyse sport and exercise therapy in disadvantaged settings and to discuss effects and possibilities for implementation in the context of HIV. The following studies are implemented:

1) A Review about Physical Activity and HIV.

2) A survey about the Perceptions on HIV in university sport in South Africa.

3) A research on sport and exercise therapy programmes in disadvantaged settings in South Africa:

The research is conducted in collaboration with the University of the Western Cape (South Africa), the Universidade Pedagógica (Mocambique) and the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain).

A symposium on Sport and HIV in Africa was celebrated during the PASHDA conference and a special edition in the OPEN AIDS Journal was published.
