During the 26th ICSSPE General Assembly, which took place in Santon, Brazil on 31 August, 2016, Maria Dinold has been elected new vice president of the ICSSPE (International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education) for the period of 2017 to 2020. The position of ICSSPE president has been assigned to Uri Schäfer (former head of the sport administration of the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sport, as well as former director of the Wingate Institute).

The third edition of the International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ICSEMIS) took place at the same time and place as the ICSSEP. In the course of the event, Maria Dinold presented a "Proposed Symposium" with the title "Adapted Physical Activity and Inclusion - Global Perspectives and Commitments to Inclusion".

Afterwards, Maria Dinold and Rosa Diketmüller attendet the opening ceremony of the Paralympics 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
